So hard!
So I didn't have much of a problem with this game until level three. Man that first area is hard. However I got through it. Death though is rediculious. I mean what am I suppose to do? I think he may be impossible. That's it for tonight. Maybe ol drac will get it tomorrow. I have to go to bed. I wish there was a code to level select. I don't want to play level three again........
Castlevania first thoughts

In all of videogamedom is there anyone quite as cool as Simon Belmont? I love a lot of games and have great memories about them but there is something special about the Castlevania series. Simon is just a guy without pants all he has is a whip....and thats all he needs! I've always wondered why Dracula has all of the items to defeat him lying around the castle. If I were him I wouldn't, but then it wouldn't that cool. The Castlevania games are some of the only ones that made me throw my controller on the ground when I was a kid. Good thing they were made better than the ones today. This is a game I've been looking forward to playing for a long time! Well here we go.
FC Mobile 2

So I can't find my old NES. I have all these games and nothing to play them on. This has been a problem for the past few months. Well yesterday I bought the FC Mobile 2. What a great little machine it is. It's a Gameboy that plays NES games. However you can plug it into the TV and play, it even comes with two wireless controllers and a Zapper! I've been hesitant about getting one of these clone systems because they don't play all the games (Most notable Castlevania 3). This little guy is supose to play them all! Well we'll see, I may just have to find my NES later. For now though let the games begin......First game will be Castlevania.

And so it has come to this.
Nintendo games are the source of most of my happiest childhood memories. I was born in 1980 so the early arcade craze was a little before my time. The crash of '84 was something that I didn't care about. However in 1987 we got our first NES. I was seven and to be honest I don't remember where I heard about video games, but I can tell you that I was very excited. It took me two weeks to get past the first goomba in Super Mario Bros. After that though, I was on a path of loving those little pixels. As video games progressed I became more and more excited about what could be done. And today with the Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3 I'm amazed at how far we've come. However being almost 30 with a wife, two kids, and working on my masters degree I never have time to play these great games. Today if a game is under 20 hours it's "short". In 1985 if the game had more than three boards it was epic! As I'm getting older I'm realizing that the games didn't get better they just changed. So while I'm not expecting anyone to read this blog, I think it'll be fun playing through the old games that were the highlight of my childhood. I'll try to get through a game every week or so but I'll update along the way. And hopefully this will become a staple in my daily routine.
